Natural vs Artificial

It’s breezy Thursday. I found it very cold to take shower. Switching on the water heater and the warming water dropped on me. Awakening the sleeping nerves, I still took minutes to clean up. As early as before, I sat for breakfast with Mama. She stared me upside down.

I like your make up, today. This looks more natural than you usually do. Sometimes, you colored your look too artificially.

What artificial, Ma? Mama left the subject behind, and walked away to our home garden. My own questions, were finally rowing alone in my head, finding own interpretation for answers.

I remember those days when I was a kid. I love to see people in colors. How people blend colors to make them look good. Mama, is one of my biggest idol. She dressed up, gorgeously as to be a well presented career woman. From top to toe, she wore not so many colors, but a color in many shades. Save for she dared to be called as fashion slave. Then I saw my eldest sister started to put on make ups after returning from overseas. Wow, I bet…. she was the most adorable sister at that time. Even till now, both of them are. But it comes in different way to me. I love artistic values. So I mix up colors to look presentable.

Maybe this is what Mama meant by artificial. The mixtures on me are just too colorful. I chose red to be matched with black and white. I love purple, but all in darker shades. I blended up oranges with mangosteen. My eyes are shaded with greenish-blue while my attire goes in glowing rock star jeans suits. I have a colorful stripes handbag to be worn with colorful clothes. Which I consider this as not so artificial, but more liked… fancy stuffs.

Feminism is not my style. That is why I don’t take pink to be matched with reddish. No light purple to be suit with pure white. I don’t sync light green with creamy scarf. This is so natural. Common looks of common ladies. They don’t attract staring eyes. Ops, sorry. I am not saying that being feminine is no attractive, only that it isn’t my style.

Okay, let’s differentiate the natural beauty with the artificial ones.

Natural means original. Originality comes out from sincerity of the heart. The original look gives the impact of sweet looking and nice sight-seeing. The inner side which has been polished by the charming personality is not certainly catch the eyes, but it falls to the heart.

Artificial, is something that has been touched up, made up. It hides the originality behind the fake looks. This, will definitely attract hundreds eyes to fall on the look at a glance. This is so called daring to be in good ways.

So, why I choose to be artificial? Because I wanted people to measure me on my performance only after getting to know me. Not misjudging me, and ended up with a frustration as I am not as silky as I look.

How about you? Whatever it is, do not copy paste others.
